This page lists the major label variations for RCA Living Stereo classical records pressed in the United States, from their first release in 1958 until the late ’60s. Dates are approximate.
Shaded Dog (1958-1959)
Small “Living Stereo” at bottom.
Shaded Dog (1959-1960)
Large “Living Stereo” at bottom, “Trade Marks” spelled out at bottom left.
Shaded Dog (1960-1962)
“TMK(s)” at bottom left.
Shaded Dog (1962-1964)
No “Stereo-Orthophonic High Fidelity” beneath dog. Later version has only “Stereo” instead of “Living Stereo” at bottom.
Dynagroove Shaded Dog (1963-1964)
Dynagroove logo at bottom. Later version has only “Stereo” instead of “Living Stereo” on either side of Dynagroove logo.
Soria Series (1962-1968)
No dog on label. May also say “Stereo” instead of “Living Stereo” at bottom. Soria Series had deluxe packaging and fancy booklets.
White Dog (1964-1968)
No shading behind dog. Later version has “Stereo Dynagroove” instead of “Stereo” at bottom, then “Stereo Dynagroove Miracle Surface” appears on last version.
