I finally found the beer steins that went with this set! I should say that my brother found them. Unbeknownst to me, my brother had been searching for these, found them on eBay , bought them and sent them to me as a present. I have always wanted to have them. I always knew that only the very earliest issues of this had the “Everything but the Beer…†title and the logos on the mugs, but didn’t know why until my brother dug that up as well. Turns out that in Texas, and maybe elsewhere, they ruled that because of the Budweiser logo, this could only be sold in stores that sold alcoholic beverages. That makes it pretty obvious why they changed it. Or maybe not. It was sold in a gift box with the mugs, the records, and a recipe book. There might have been a little tray as well, I’m not sure. This all was, of course, “Everything But The Beer…†Maybe the title was only intended to be used as long as they were including the mugs, and it was always the plan to take the title off of the album once they were done with the mugs. Who knows.
